The new Rhino 700 Sport Edition is now powered by a fuel injected 686cc 4-stroke engine, similar to the one found in the Grizzly 700. With fuel injection you get better cold starting, and super crisp throttle response. This engine also features roller bearing rocker arms for reduced friction and improved engine performance, with a forged piston and a carburized Chrome-Moly connecting rod for improved durability.

The 2008 Yamaha Rhino 700 Special Edition features a fully automatic Ultramatic™ transmission, the most advanced drive system in the ORV world. Not only is it simple to use . . . select a forward gear, step on the gas pedal and go, but it also provides full engine braking to reduce brake wear. The Ultramatic CVT system uses a special clutch design, which reduces belt wear since the belt is under constant tension. This system provides superior no-slip performance and significantly reduces belt wear. Light, responsive rack and pinion steering features a fully sealed steering column and double u-jointed steering linkage for smooth action.

The 2008 Realtree Camo Rhino 700 FI features a push-button servo-controlled ""On-Command"" system that allows you to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD - all with the simple push of a dash mounted button. Real 4-wheel drive when you need it. With Diff-lock engaged, there's no need to wait for one wheel to spin. You have traction to all 4 wheels, immediately. This puts you in total control... you decide when you need 4 wheel drive... the machine doesn't decide for you.

The 2008 Yamaha Rhino 700 FI features a single automotive-style brake pedal which activates the dual front and rear disc brakes. This 4 wheel hydraulic disc brake system provides outstanding stopping performance in a variety of conditions. All four discs are tucked out of the way to prevent damage from rocks or stumps. A mechanical console mounted parking brake with a new automotive style lever features a dash mounted warning light to avoid operating the unit with the parking brake engaged.

The Yamaha Rhino 450 has a proven Kodiak ATV based, slant block, 421cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 2-valve, 4-stroke single. The Rhino 450 offers the best power to weight ratio in its class delivering lots of low end torque and a top speed of over 55 km /hr. Compact engine design features a 45° cylinder angle. Maximum torque is developed at only 5,000rpms. A dual range transmission features high range, low range, neutral and reverse. This transmission design is lighter and more compact thanks to its three-axle configuration which also reduces horsepower losses as well. Low range offers aprox. 1.5 times the pulling power of high range.
