Turbo Kit - Yamaha RS Series 2005 |
 |
MC XPRESS TURBO KIT INFO |
 |
|
Turbo Power Starting @ 205HP!
The standard kit will produce just above 200HP at 0.8 bar turboboost
on pump gas. With low comp pistons (option) and higher boost 250HP
(at sea level) will be easy to achieve, still on pump gas. The installation
is very easy and done within 20 hours. |
The all-new 973cc three-cylinder Yamaha has developed to complete
the four-stroke line up will be as suitable to turbo charging as the
mighty RX1. We are working on this kit right now and layout and construction
basics will be similar to our RX1 turbo system.
Main features include:
Rear mounted turbo for less heating of the under hood area and better
weight balance on the vehicle.
|
Low inertia high tech turbocharger for best response and
high efficiency. Low comp gasket for safe pump-gas operation with high
HP.
A large and efficient intercooler enhances performance as well as
reliability. A new developed muffler keep the noise level down to make
trail riding enjoyable. MC Xpress oil scavenging-system. MC Xpress
fuel management-system, no rejetting required. |
|
 |
All parts and installation-manual will be included with the kit.
We will manufacture turbo-kits to all five models in the RS-series.
The standard kit will produce just above 200HP at 0.8 bar turboboost on pump
gas.
With low comp pistons (option) and higher boost 250HP (at sea level) will be
easy to achieve, still on pump gas. |

| View under the hood. Stock carbs are used. The intercooler
and plenum are designed so that no rejetting of the carbs are required.
Note the blow off valve located on the left side of the plenum. This
valve makes the air/fuel mixture correct even under rapid throttleclose
and saves the hole system from damages caused by pressure peaks. |
|
 |
| This is the intake of the tube that leads the pressurized
air from the rear mounted turbo to the engine. This tube is located above
the track, under the tunnel. Note the cooling flanges inside the tube.
We call this tube a "pre-cooler", because it creates a temperature drop
of the air. Higher performance and reliability is the gain. |
|
 |
| View of the turbo installation. A very efficient Mitsubishi
turbocharger is used. We have manage to build a quiet muffler even if
the space is limited. |
|
 |
| The picture shows the muffler during a flowtest. A lot
of development work has been made until we where satisfied with the result.
To get both low flow resistant and still have a low noise level in a
limited space was a challenge. |
